Breast Cancer Related Study
RAN's facilities in Naples and Fort Myers are recruiting women to examine the impact of Advance Practice Nurse administered Low Level Laser Therapy on arm volume, symptoms and the qualty of life in breast cancer survivors suffering from lymphedema.
Specifically, the study is being conducted to determine if three types of lympedema treatment currently in use by RAN have similar affects, or to determine which treatment appears to generate better results. We are hoping to determine if Low Level Laser Treatment alone, or when administered with Manual Lympathic Drainage works better than Manual Lympathic Drainage by itself.
Financial assistance is available to cover costs of physician prescribed therapy and compression garments for qualified, uninsured or underinsured cancer survivors living in southwest Florida, specifically: Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee Counties funded by Lymphedema Resources, Inc.
